Meet Lily McGill

Born and raised in Mission Viejo, Lily grew up in a multi-ethnic, multi-family condo exposed to the cultural traditions of Asia, Latin America and California. She excelled in Saddleback Valley Unified schools and graduated as valedictorian at Mission Viejo High School. Lily now lives in Aliso Viejo with her husband and 2-year-old daughter.

Education & Experience

Lily graduated magna cum laude from UC Berkeley and earned an MBA from Harvard Business School. She started her career in public policy with a healthcare focus. Now Lily runs a strategy consulting firm that leverages her expertise in data analytics, forecasting and modeling in life sciences. She has experience evaluating and making recommendations on large scale investments, including infrastructure and manufacturing, for publicly traded companies.

Throughout her life, Lily has found ways to give back to and engage with her community. She actively participated in high school service clubs including the National Honor Society and Elks Club. Since college, she has offered pro-bono strategy consulting to nonprofits through Compass, and served on nonprofit boards including Briya and Friends of the Aliso Viejo Library.

Environment & conservation

Lily is passionate about water and conserving natural resources. She grew up hiking coastal wildlife refuges, like Starr Ranch in the Saddleback Mountains, and learning about protecting local ecosystems. Her father served in the US Fish & Wildlife Service for over 20 years protecting endangered species and rehabilitating natural habitats in California wetlands.

Lily and her family participated in the Moulton Niguel Water District's (MNWD) NatureScape program to plant a native garden that significantly improved her household's water efficiency and brought indigenous butterflies to their backyard.

Lily’s education, professional experience and dedication to conservation make her an ideal candidate for Director of MNWD. As a financial forecaster, Lily will expertly evaluate proposals that address pressing issues, such as the rising costs of imported water and capital infrastructure improvements. As an experienced board member, she will support good governance of MNWD operations.

Lily is running for office to protect a better future for her daughter and our next generation. She will serve residents through her commitment to ensuring the supply of safe, affordable and reliable water.
